I had been watching some movies..... it's been a long while before I watched any movies until these few days.... I could wathc 3 movies... 2 of them my favourite, the latter seemed like a trip to highschool literature class. First - Ironman (May 2008) Plot: Just like the comics, it revolves around the life of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) before and after becoming Ironman, a superhero donning a high tech super-armor(MK-1 through MK-4). This also marks a special cameo from Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson, YESSSH!!!) offering the "avengers" initiative. Comment: If anyone knows me well, they know I'm a superhero film NUT. I have 2 words to describe it... Sweet and Cool. Robert Downey Jr. is right for the role of Tony Stark (given both personal histories: Stark being a alcoholic and Downey as a former addict). He brings a certain human-ness to the character.... more life as you could put it. The Mk-1 armor (The grey bulk armor) is so crude that I felt the realness, despite all armors are being made in CGI (what isn't nowadays?). The only disappoint i had is the Jarvis character had been reduced to being a computer program.... Although i do agree that If the butler being a person.. then it'll make Ironman more like the Marvel version of Batman... Batman/Bruce wayne being Ironman/Tony Stark, Alred being Jarvis, and the high-tech gear.... Nevertheless... it's quite a good movie, even for people who hasn't been into the comics... As for the Villain... it was none other than Sebastian Shaw...also known as the Iron Monger, basically another Ironman that has a bigger frame and cannot fly. Jeff Bridges is definately unrecognizable.... what can I say... must be his bald-headed charms that win us over for being the evilest business man (who isn't?). I give it a 9 out of 10 Second - Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Plot: Second of the Anthology (7 books) Chronicles of Narnia. Picking up from what the last film left, the Siblings had been staying in their hometown England for a year and had been summoned to the Land of Naria, only it had been 1000 years after they last visited. and They had to defend the Narians before the enemies kills them all. Comment: This is actually my first look at the Narnia series.... But thanks to my past knowledge of ancient Literature, I wasnt too left behind along with the series. Basically if you havent seen/read the Witch, Lion and the Wardrobe... you might not be too confused with most of the storylines.... until Aslan (the Lion, voiced by Liam Neeson) shows up or being mentioned throughout the series. The series is basically based on the authors look on Christianity... and it is well-known that Aslan is none other than the Son of God... (Jesus). I could see the refer, since Aslan is being the wisest and most magical among all. Not really a fan of the later series of the Chronicles but it is a great entertaining experience. I give it a 7.5 out of 10 Last - The Incredible Hulk Plot: (to be soon) Comment: (to be soon) |
